Group or private classes build a strong foundation for preparing for a calm and fear-free birth - no matter what unfolds during the process.

My Hypnobirthing Australia™ classes offer the support of a birth professional who not only gives you evidence-based birth education through the program but also allows you to ask questions and build a vision for your birth with your birth partner.

What is Hypnobirthing?
The 'hypno' part of 'hypnobirthing' refers to the hypnotherapy that we use to let go of our fears and condition ourselves to release endorphins during birth. With the help of hypnotherapy your birth can be a more calm and relaxed experience.
Hypnobirthing uses a combination of different techniques and philosophies to empower mothers to release and let go during labour and birth. You will learn breathing, relaxation, massage and self-hypnosis techniques along with the knowledge and tools to assist you to make informed decisions along the way. Your birth partner takes on a special role during these classes as they learn how to best support you during this special time.

Classes are run over 2 full days (12 hours of face to face contact time with me in class).
At our first class together you will receive;

Course Outline
The positive birth program contains 4 units which are covered over 2 days.
Creating and maintaining a positive mindset
This unit covers an introduction to Hypnobirthing, how our bodies are wired to give birth, mind/body connection, self-hypnosis for birth, birthing physiology and hormones, how the fear-tension-pain cycle effects birth, re-programming the subconscious, the birthing environment, language for empowered birthing and the power of affirmations.
Our toolkit for birth
In the second unit we will cover self-hypnosis tracks, birth music, conditioning with scent, anchors and triggers, how to release endorphins, acupressure for pregnancy and labour, visualization techniques, relaxation breathing, surge breathing, techniques to make your surges more comfortable, instant relaxation techniques.
Preparation and choices for empowered birthing
The third unit looks at birth preferences, bonding with your baby, knowledge is power - researching and understanding common birthing interventions, important questions to ask your provider, a framework for how to advocate for yourself and how your birth partner can advocate for you, the normal range of pregnancy, inductions, achieving a natural start to labour, preparing your body for labour, optimising your baby's position, breech or posterior - options and positions, self hypnosis, meditation and deep relaxation scripts.
Birth - Bringing it all together
The final unit brings all the previous learning we have done together and also what to expect in the weeks and days leading up to birth, signs that labour is starting, what to expect through labour, when to call your care providers, accidental car or homebirth, the birth partners role, the use of water during labour, positioning and movement for labour and birth, special circumstances (including caesarean birth), fear release, vocalisation, cord clamping and birthing the placenta, the golden hour after birth, what to expect after birth, a self hypnosis track - rehearsal for birth and practice routine - preparation for birth.

Private 1:1 Classes - $900
Private classes are available (spaces are limited) which offer the option of fully tailored approach to preparing for the journey of birth. I have worked with many parents as a doula in 1:1 settings. Private classes maybe for you if you are wanting a tailored and personal approach to learning Hypnobirthing Australia™ techniques in the comfort of your own home.
